This document is explicitly for Sonoran Desert Institute (SDI) Zephyr institution users.

Inviting Students

In order to invite students, you need to have an active course at your institution and seats available to assign to them.

Details on creating and managing courses can be found here:

When you invite a student, you must use their Microsoft Active Directory email.

The student will receive an email invitation from Zephyr.

They will need to click the “Create Account” link in that email.

When they click the link, they will be directed to zephyr-sim.com where they will be prompted to login to their Microsoft SDI account.

If they are not directly prompted to login with their SDI account, they will simply need to click “Continue with Microsoft” and finish logging in with their SDI credentials.

Once they login with their credentials, they will be redirected to their Zephyr dashboard where they will be able to see their new Student role and course/assignment details.

Students Logging into Zephyr (Website)

Please note: at this time, whichever method you chose to sign up for Zephyr ([1] Creating a password or [2] Using your SDI Microsoft Sign In), you must use that method going forward.

If you signed up for Zephyr by creating a password, please use that method for logging into the website and simulator

When SDI students visit zephyr-sim.com and click “Login”, they will need to click the “Continue with Microsoft” button.

When the finish logging into their Microsoft SDI account, they will be redirected back to their Zephyr dashboard.

Student Logging into Zephyr (Simulator)

  1. Run the “Little Arms Launcher” program

Make sure you are running the most recent version of the Launcher

  1. Your login window should look like this

  2. Type in your Microsoft email that you used to sign up for Zephyr and click the blue arrow button

  3. You will be presented with another window to login to your Microsoft account. Finish logging in with your Microsoft credentials

  1. After you successfully login, you will be directed back to the Launcher where you can install or launch Zephyr

Inviting Institution Admins/Instructors

Since SDI Instructors and Institution Admins are not a part of the SDI Active Directory, they will need to register by setting an email/password combination in Zephyr.

  1. An existing Institution Admin will need to send an email invite through their Zephyr dashboard

  2. The new user will receive an email with a “Create Account” link. Click the link.

  3. They will be redirected to the Zephyr sign up page with their email auto-filled in the email field

  4. Create a password and click “Continue”

  5. Once your account finishes being created, you will be redirected back to your Zephyr dashboard where your new role will be available to choose.

Institution Admin/Instructor Logging into Zephyr (Website)

  1. Navigate to zephyr-sim.com and click “Login” in the navbar

  2. Enter your email that you used when signing up for your Zephyr account. Click “Continue”

  3. Enter your Zephyr password. Click “Continue”

  4. You will be redirected back to your Zephyr dashboard

Institution Admin/Instructor Logging into Zephyr (Simulator)

  1. Run the “Little Arms Launcher” program

  2. Enter your email that you used when signing up for your Zephyr account. Click the blue arrow button

  3. You will be presented with another window to finish logging in. Enter your Zephyr password and click “Continue”
